This room vibes with the water element because of the beautiful deep blue wall color. Yes, please! This room feels exotic but calming at the same time. In feng shui, think blues & blacks, mirrors, water fountains & images of the sea when you think of water element.
A great way to channel the water element is to spend time by the ocean, a lake, river or waterfall. The natural flow of the water will unlock your energy . Water has the amazing ability to both calm and energize simultaneously. If you can’t get to a body of water, don’t worry! A soak in your tub with some essential oils and salt bath will connect you in the same way.
Let’s talk about the water element in our personality and how it shows up.
This is where psychology meets the ancient medicine systems of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Feng Shui. The water element in Feng Shui represents the emotions we feel. If we get stuck in our emotions, they become stagnant. We become stagnant. This affects our minds, our home, and our life. This could show up as many different types of fears. Fear is the number one motivator of most behaviors but usually, we are not conscious of our fear until it is knocking so loud that we can’t ignore it.
Water out of balance manifests as fear which creates blocks in our lives. We are meant to flow, not to be stuck. If you think about nature, water is a powerful force. When in flow, it is tranquil and peaceful. Are you sitting on a beach hearing the waves gently lap onto the shore? I am in my mind.
Now, think about stagnant water that doesn’t move. What happens? It creates Red Tide or algae-ridden water that makes us sick. In Feng Shui, this is known as Si Chi. Water is meant to move, but not too fast. If it moves too fast, we have tsunamis which destroy life. Fast energy is also bad in your home and is referred to as Sha Chi.
Water in nature is persistent and powerful, yet peaceful. It always gets where it needs to go despite the obstacles in its way. A stream gently flows around the rocks to reach its destination. It doesn’t get stuck. It is flexible and keeps moving by finding a new path. Like water, you must flow to do the amazing things in life you were meant for.
