Do you feel unstable, scattered or chaotic in the world we live in today? Don’t worry, nature has your back dear one! Channel the earth element to ground, center and calm your energy.
This is the one element that should be strengthened in every home regardless of your personal element type. Earth element will provide you with nourishment, stability, support and protection. This element is particularly needed in the bedroom to help you calm and rest at the end of the day. Pair it with a touch of fire as these two elements are connected in a strong and powerful way. Beige, sand, yellow, brown and taupe are earth colors. Think of any of the colors in your natural landscape and that is earth!
You can also experience the earth element by getting out into nature, gardening, and with herbal medicine. If you work with essential oils, you can bring in the earth element with patchouli, myrrh, sage, vetiver, frankincense, and tea tree oils. You can put these oils in a bath, mix them in a vinegar water cleaner for your home, or just diffuse them in the air. Breathe them in and feel rooted in the beauty of earth. Let it wrap its arms around you and give you her motherly protection.
The earth personality is nurturing, generous and giving to others in their world. They represent the mother aspect of energy and often take care of others. Sometimes, at their own expense. It is very important for the earth personality to have boundaries in place with others. Otherwise, they could be prone toward guilt, people pleasing and not being able to say no. When out of balance they are prone to worry. The earth personality likes routines, are practical by nature, and are very reliable. Earth type people can therefore often be tormented by their over-concern for details and can become caught up in circular thinking from which there is no escape. Other people can depend on this type of person because they are reliable, sympathetic, and good caretakers.
One of my most favorite design styles ,hygge is rooted in Danish simplicity. Think of curling up with a cup of tea and your favorite blanket to read a good book. This is hygge at its finest. It is all about comfort, simplicity, family and good food. There’s a reason realtors suggest baking cookies before an open house—the familiar scent of a childhood home creates a cozy and welcoming environment. You can also light scented candles. Warm aromas like ginger, vanilla, cinnamon, or orange contribute to a relaxing atmosphere. Create a reading nook for yourself that is full of hygge comfort. But be careful, you may not want to leave.
Bring the earth element into your home with crystals, pottery, art of beautiful landscapes, earthy paint colors, natural fabrics like cotton, hemp, jute and sisal. Any item that says comfy to you is great for the earth element. Faux fur rugs, chunky knit blankets, and macrame. So, I give you permission to go out and plant those feet in the sand or grass, hug a tree or buy that amazing crystal you’ve been eyeing!
Go and get grounded my darlings!
